Declare Label Creation: Moving from 3E Exchange to Geofund

Guide to publishing Declare Labels following the sunset of the 3E Exchange <> ILFI Workflow.

Overview

The direct Declare Label publishing workflow in 3E Exchange is being retired as the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) moves Declare to its new platform, Geofund.

3E Exchange remains your system of record for product, material, supplier, and Bill of Materials (BOM) data. What changes is where the Declare Label itself is created and published. The last day to publish a Declare Label through 3E Exchange is September 22, 2026, and ILFI's new Declare v2.1 experience on Geofund launches September 28, 2026.

What's changing

Previously, you could:

  1. Collect supplier and material data in 3E Exchange

  2. Build and analyze your BOM

  3. Generate and publish Declare Labels directly through 3E Exchange

Going forward, you will:

  1. Collect supplier and material data in 3E Exchange

  2. Build and analyze your BOM in 3E Exchange

  3. Export your BOM data

  4. Upload the exported BOM into Geofund

  5. Create and publish the Declare Label in Geofund

There is no system-to-system connection between 3E Exchange and Geofund. The workflow is a manual export from 3E Exchange followed by submission through ILFI's platform.

How to export your BOM data for a Declare submission

When you are ready to create a Declare Label:

  1. Go to My Products

  2. Select the product you want

  3. Open the BOM tab

  4. Select Export

  5. Choose Full BOM

  6. Save the export file

  7. Upload the exported BOM into Geofund

Current guidance is to use the Full BOM export.

What is not changing

  • 3E Exchange remains your primary system for supplier and chemical data collection

  • You continue to use 3E Exchange for BOM management, gap analysis, and supplier engagement

  • Your subscription terms, pricing, and MSA are unaffected

  • You can continue maintaining proprietary and confidential material data in 3E Exchange

One-time transfer of published Declare Labels

To support the transition, eligible customers can authorize a one-time transfer of their complete, published Declare Label data to ILFI.

Included: complete, published Declare Labels that you authorize.

Not included: draft labels, in-progress labels, and archived labels.

You must provide your authorization by September 18, 2026 for eligible published labels to be included. If you do not authorize the transfer, your published label data stays with 3E and is not transferred; if you need those labels in Geofund later, you will need to recreate them there.

Your proprietary and confidential data

The one-time transfer covers only the data on complete, published Declare Labels — information already published on those labels. Material data you maintain in 3E Exchange that is not part of a published label is not included in the transfer, and substances you have marked proprietary in your BOM are excluded from the transfer export. Confidential information remains governed by your MSA and is not shared as part of the transfer.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still use 3E Exchange after Geofund launches?

Yes. Continue using 3E Exchange for material and supplier data management, BOM analysis, and workflow preparation. Only the final Declare Label creation and publication step moves to Geofund.

Does this change my Exchange subscription?

No. Subscription terms, pricing, and MSA agreements remain unchanged.

Is there an automated connection between 3E Exchange and Geofund?

No. The workflow is a manual export from 3E Exchange and a manual upload into Geofund.

What if I do not authorize the one-time transfer?

Your published label data stays with 3E and is not transferred. If you need those labels in Geofund later, you will need to recreate them there.

Where do I get support?

Contact 3E for questions about 3E Exchange, your product and material data, your BOM, and exports. Contact ILFI for anything on the Geofund platform itself — platform training, publishing questions, account support, and Declare v2.1 requirements — at [email protected].
